Welcome to Aria’s Kitchen! I’m Aria, and I love to cook, bake, craft, and celebrate with my family. Most of this fun takes place in my kitchen. I started this site to share my creations with you through recipes, projects, and tips including:
- How to add more vegetables into your recipes
- How to enjoy 60 pounds of mangoes
- How to plan a meal that vegetarians and meat eaters will all love
A little about me….
I grew up in upstate NY, on acres of land out in the country, surrounded by farms of all types. We belonged to a health food co-op and had a vegetable garden and compost heap in the backyard. Almost everything we ate was natural and organic. We moved to Florida when I was in elementary school and although I moved away for college and work, I ended up back in the same area my parents brought us to all those years ago.
My husband and I live in an Old Florida style house built in the 1950s near the Gulf of Mexico. We worked at the same company and met during lunch. Shortly after we met, one of my coworkers invited me to watch a football game with his friends from the office, including Joe. We missed most of the game because we were talking the whole time!
My husband does eat meat, but he is a good sport and willing to try my vegetarian foods also. I try to cook creatively so we aren’t eating the same meal every night. Although I have been a vegetarian my whole life, I am pretty picky about veggies, but I find creative ways to sneak them in. Some of his favorite meatless meals are:
- Vegetarian enchiladas
- Wine and cheese (yes, you can make this into a meal)
- Grilled veggie pizza
