When I needed something to bring to the office potluck I was inspired by this pin for reindeer cookies. I used my soft ginger snap cookies for the base, because I really do not enjoy peanut butter anything, even peanut butter cookies. You can also use sugar cookies as the base or premade dough.
The trick is to have all your mini chocolate chip eyes, red M&M noses, and pretzel antlers ready in advance. I kept the chocolate pieces in the freezer between cookie batches so they didn’t melt as I pressed them into the warm cookies.
You will need:
2 dozen cookies
24 red m&m’s (buy the Christmas ones so you get more reds)
48 mini chocolate chips
48 pretzels (you really only need 24 but a few extra would be a good idea because it’s tricky to break into antler shapes)
My cookies traveled pretty well, except for two (that I had to eat). Good thing I ate those two because the reindeer cookies were a hit at our holiday lunch and there were none left.
